A two-person practice on Sixth Avenue
Crossroads Ledger LLC was founded in 2014 by David Jones. The name comes from Indiana's old nickname, the Crossroads of America — and from the fact that a ledger is where every road in a business eventually meets.
Our story
David spent eleven years in the finance departments of two Indiana manufacturers before opening the practice. The frustration that started it was simple: small firms were being sold software when what they needed was somebody to take the paperwork off their desk and explain the result in ordinary English.
We opened at 837 Sixth Avenue with four clients. Twelve years later we look after just over three hundred, and the model has not changed. We deliberately keep the practice small so that the person who signs your engagement letter is the person reviewing your books.
What we believe
- Plain language beats jargon. If a report needs an accounting degree to read, we wrote it badly.
- Deadlines are promises. Late filings cost real money, so we treat internal dates as external ones.
- Prices belong on the website. Nobody should have to sit through a sales call to learn what bookkeeping costs.
- Say no when it is not a fit. We refer out audits, international structuring and anything outside our competence.
